Our family is going through a tough transition, and we have been incredibly grateful for the calls, visits, meals and well wishes. For those who are not aware, Bereket suffered multiple strokes in September that have left him with impaired mobility and brain damage.

With amazing support from our friends, family and physical/speech rehab, he is home and on his way to recovery. As his partner of 24 years, I am now his 24/7 caregiver, but will need to return to work soon in order to maintain our financial stability.

Bereket will be out of work for an unknown period of time, although doctors believe it could be up to a year. Therefore, he will need an in-home caregiver to help manage his meds and overall safety.

Our family has thought carefully about our needs and what could truly support us during this time. We are asking for help covering necessary expenses while we navigate next steps. Any amount will help us prioritize his recovery, get me back to work, and continue providing for our family of four.
