My name is Dawn and I am the MiMi to the most amazing little man on the planet, my 13-year-old grandson, Bentley.
Three years ago, he was diagnosed with a terminal brain cancer (midline diffused glioma) and has been fighting like a true warrior from the beginning.
After radiation, chemotherapy, many different combinations of drugs, a trial medication, and so many prayers and love, we have now entered the last chapters of his story.
Bentley was placed on hospice care a little over a month ago after 4 brain surgeries. He has started having prolonged seizures and lost most of the ability to use his right side.
To know Bentley is to know what true love and compassion are. He has prayed every day for every sick child and person he has met throughout his journey. The only person he doesn’t pray for is himself.
He is losing his battle and we are heartbroken. The medical expenses and leave from work have been overwhelming. We come to you asking for help to make his final arrangements. It is a cost we simply can’t do alone.
Losing a loved one is devastating, but losing a child is so much deeper. Anything will help. We want to prepare for the send-off to his forever home the way he deserves.
Thank you in advance for the love and prayers. Dawn
