UPDATE on Bentley October 17th

We are now 5 1/2 months into this journey.
Some things that have happened since the last update. September 17th Bentley had his reconstructive surgery and it went great. After surgery and being admitted he was sent home with now two catheters. A superpubic and a Foley.
The beginning of October Bentley ended up getting a really bad infection in his urinary tract. He was put on medicine for it which quickly took a turn for the worst as he had a severe reaction to it causing him to develop Steven Johnson syndrome, thankfully knowing something wasn't right the medicine was stopped after 2 doses but he still ended up getting admitted the children's. That is now currently healing slowly on very strong steroids.
October 14th Bentley got his Foley catheter removed and the superpubic catheter was plugged so that he can begin his journey to go to the bathroom on his own again, and for the first time in 160 days, he successfully peed on his own!
The superpubic catheter will remain in place Incase of an emergency.
October 23rd he will undergo hopefully one more procedure under sedation to have his superpubic catheter removed.

I cannot thank everyone enough for the thoughts, prayers and donations as this has been a scary traumatizing time for all of us especially Bentley. He is seriously the strongest boy I know.

With the surgery now complete, and all the set backs in between unfortunately we are still struggling to stay afloat financially. I am currently still out of work taking care of Bentley. Unfortunately that does not stop the bills and medical bills that are now again piling up. If you can find it in your heart please continue to pray for Bentley and please please share this page as anything can help! ❤️

UPDATE on Ben Ben.

First and foremost, THANK YOU to each and EVERY single one of you who has donated and especially for the prayers <3

I will share with you a screenshot of Lisa's, his mom, post about his procedure he recently had and here's a copy/paste ~

"Today unfortunately did not go as planned as we didn't get as many answers as we hoped for and Bentley had to go thru another traumatic procedure. What we do know is the urethra is still completely severed, his urologist and a reconstructive surgeon will now discuss what the plan will be going forward with the repair surgery in September. Due to complications he will now also be going in about two weeks for another surgery to replace his superpubic catheter. I wish I had better news but this is what we're left with for now.
Please continue to keep our family in your prayers. It has been a long couple months especially for Bentley and still a long terrifying journey ahead. For peace and comfort as Bentley is struggling physically and we as a family are struggling both emotionally and financially. Please pray and share even if that's all you can do. We appreciate all the love and support more than I could ever begin to explain. ♥️"

They were hoping for some good news but they got left with still all the same questions that haunt them everyday :(
Ben has at least a couple surgeries ahead of him and not sure atm what all they entail.
He suffers daily with spasms and still has the tube and urostomy bag.
Its so very hard and sad to believe how much this has changed everything about his life and his entire families life.
We still pray and are not giving up hope. Our God is an awesome God.
This family still needs EVERY single prayer they can get for peace, comfort and healing.
They are also just scraping by on the costs of his medical bills and medical supplies. We are not asking for those of you that have donated to donate anymore, all you have done is so beyond appreciated. We are asking that you please share this Gofundme in hopes that it reaches others and to please, please keep this family in your prayers. Pray for healing for our little Ben.

To help with living costs and expenses that will incur over the next 6 months. Both parents work and do everything they can for their kids. This accident will require one parent to be with him always, therefore putting a toll on them financially.

We are reaching out with a heavy heart for our grandson and his family. Let me begin with a back story of this incredible young boy. Bentley Freet, is quite an amazing kid. His love for sports and his competitive spirit go beyond the normal. He ALWAYS puts 1000% into everything he does. He has been on the soccer team since he could kick a ball, he has several years on his school football team, and several years on the wrestling team! He just recently qualified for State in wrestling. This boy does everything with his whole heart.

Now to the current. Ben had an accident, a pretty bad one. He had to have emergency surgery with a tube placed through his abdomen and into his bladder. He will have this bag with him for 4 to 6 months. He has to have a future surgery that is on hold until his injuries allow for the medical team to move forward. He won't be going to State now nor playing football this year :( ALL of his sports are on hold and this is taking a toll on our amazing grandchild. We know though, that he will eventually tackle this like he tackles EVERYTHING he does. He just needs time. But the family could use ANY help they could get financially and welcome all prayers.

If you have the means, please help Ben and his family and if all you can do is pray, please do this.

Below are words of worry and heartache from a mother:

"I hope my boy can find some comfort and not only in his pain. I watched my happy hyper super active 11 year old go from making it to states in wrestling, just signing up for his 6th & final year of elementary football, being the most go go go kid I know to becoming completely hopeless, screaming in pain, crying non stop saying he's scared, staring at the walls for hours ..in just a blink of an eye. He's missing everything now. Wrestling, football, track and field, the last few weeks of elementary school ever... Please pray for some peace and comfort for him. I am at loss for words.
