Hi! I'm Kerry Ann Gonzales and I'm raising funds for my nephew, Ben Hidalgo, and his family.

Ben was recently diagnosed with MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome), which is a type of bone marrow cancer. He has been scheduled for a life-saving bone marrow transplant in mid February. After, Ben will need to spend at least 90 days in isolation while his immune system is restored.

Ben and his wife, Rhianedd, have 2 young girls, Winnie, 6 and Eleri, 3. They are a single income family.

Ben is a high school math teacher.

His doctors have advised that he not work before his procedure, so that he can strengthen himself and avoid getting sick due to his compromised immune system. While Ben is off, his income will be reduced by approximately 50% for the next 5 months.

To offset this decrease in pay, we've decided to ask for your help. This fundraiser will give Ben some time to focus on his health before his transplant, supplement his income and will also provide a small cushion for unforeseen emergencies. Ben's family and friends would greatly appreciate any donations.
