Hi! My name is Dylann, and this is my dog Bennie. Bennie is 5 years old and has just been diagnosed with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). The day before we brought him to the hospital, he was his usual self—playful, goofy, and energetic. He was brought into the specialist hospital on the afternoon of 12/30 and is still in their care as of today, 01/02. He has had to have four blood transfusions and copious amounts of fluids, steroids, and medications. We are really hoping to see some improvements, but this has all been so overwhelming. He has become very jaundiced, with his bilirubin levels being high, and is very weak. He still lifts his head up and wags his tail a little when we visit him, but he is struggling. We are holding so much hope for our boy and want to make sure we can financially support all the care he needs.

I am a History Education student at Kennesaw State University. My mom is a single mom who has worked so incredibly hard to give me the life I have, including Bennie during the summer of 2020. We aren’t ready to say bye to our baby and want to help him to recover and come home. While IMHA is not curable, if we can get him to stabilize, he can come home and get the medication he needs to live the rest of his life. Thank you!
