Hello! my name is Benji, I’m a 20 year old trans man who lives in the Central Valley of California and a first generation Mexican American. I’m raising funds for my top surgery in 5 months. I will personally be paying for all expenses on this trip and unfortunately I do not make enough to cover it all. I cannot rely on family to help support me as they deal with their own bills and debts. My parents are working two jobs to make ends meet and I don’t want to burden them anymore financially.

I wanted to wait to save up and pay for my surgery but with the current administration, all the laws passing, and the risk of losing my insurance I want to do it as soon as I can.

I live stealth in fear of what others might do or say. I pass well but unfortunately I have a large chest I cannot hide easily. I wear a binder everyday longer than recommended due to extreme dysphoria and have been dealing with constant back and rib pain because of it. I’ve always run hot and sweat really easily but starting testosterone has only made it harder to deal with. Here in the valley we get over 100 degree weather and wearing a binder makes going out, socializing, and work much more difficult.

Everything that I’ll have to cover includes:

- Hotel Costs

- Meal Costs

- Transportation to and from surgery clinic ( 6+ hour drive total )

- Recovery+ scar care supplies

I will also have to financially support myself after surgery as I will be out of work during my recovery process
