Benjamin was diagnosed before birth with lobar holoprosencephaly. This condition has a 50% mortality rate by age 1. He is globally delayed in most areas and was also diagnosed with level III autism almost 3 years ago. Benjamin receives ABA Therapy services for 3 hours a day, M-F, in addition to his special education Kindergarten. This comes out to be about $600/month after insurance. With his Kindergarten and ABA services, his behavior and communication skills have improved immensely. His ABA services had been free (due to Medicaid) until September of this year. We were all kicked off of Medicaid when I became a school teacher. We have applied for and been denied for disability social security and disability Medicaid because of our income. Yet my husband and I have to donate plasma every week in order to make ends meet. We are asking for help to cover Ben's out of pocket maximum so that we do not have to discontinue his ABA therapy for the next year.
