“Help us be by Benjamin’s side during his surgery and recovery.”
Hi, my name is Vicky and I am raising funds to help with expenses, hotel stays, traveling expenses, food, and anything that comes our way. I recently had to quit my job to be with Benjamin and get him prepared for his big Surgery on 9/8/25 in Houston Texas. He is home-bound till after his recovery.
Benjamin is ten-years-old, he was diagnosed with a Plexiform Schwannoma Tumor (Rare) in 2021 at the age of six. He went underway of his first big surgery in April 2021.
Over the last 4 years we have been monitoring it, over the last almost 6 months things have been a little rough he has been on different kinds of medication, He underwent the first cryoablation of the tumor with biopsy on 3/28/25, He developed hydronephrosis due to mass effect on ureter and displacement of the bladder and underwent cystoscopy with left ureteral stent placement on 4/23/25, He then underwent a second cryoablation on 4/27/25, replacement stent was done on 6/11/25. His third stent is being replaced today (8/18/25) he has had lots of MRI’s.
The last 2.5 or so months we have been able to control his pain with medication. He has days where he is very active and some days where he is lazy. He has Physical Therapy 2x’s a week. Last month he got to go on his MAKE-A-WISH TRIP. He picked Florida, he had the best time. Before we left for Florida we got a call from a Surgeon from Texas Children Hospital in Houston saying that he could do Benjamin’s surgery, he is very confident that he can get most or even all of the Tumor out!!!! We have been praying for months to find a surgeon experienced with this type of Tumor. His Big surgery day will be September 8, 2025. They are thinking radiation after the surgery. He has a long road ahead of him, we know that God has us and we are gonna get through this season and come out ever stronger. Benjamin is such a strong kiddo for his age. God has got us through all the hard times and he is gonna continue guiding us.
Benjamin’s tumor is Rare it’s located in his pelvis/ pelvic area. Risk Level: Acute/chronic illness that poses a threat to life or bodily function.
Every mile, every meal, every moment matters Thank you for helping us through this journey.
Your support helps us focus on what matters most Benjamin’s healing.
If you’re able to donate it is greatly appreciated and if you’re not able to that’s ok just continue praying for our boy Benjamin and us. God Bless you all and a BIG THANKS from “Yo Boy Benji” and the family.
