Hello, this is John and Nichole Carpenter. On November 19th, 2025, at around 8:00 pm, our 20-year-old son, Benjamin Carpenter, was shot in his back at almost point-blank range by a coward that he didn't even know. The bullet severed his spine, leaving him paralyzed from the arms down. He has severe damage to his spine in the T1-T4 area. Benjamin has little arm and hand movement. The doctors are saying he may never walk again. Benjamin was an avid weight lifter and also boxed. He recently purchased a truck and signed up for welding school. His dreams are now shattered, and he may be bound to a wheelchair for life. Doctors say he has a long uphill road ahead of him and will need 24/7 care. We, the Carpenter family, are asking for help to raise some money that would go towards his living and care expenses. If and when he is allowed to leave the hospital, he will need special care at home as well.

We would like to show Benjamin that there are good people in this world and not all humans hurt others. He is in severe pain and is struggling to understand why a random person would shoot him in the back.
