Hi. My name is Louise. I'm organising this fundraiser on behalf of our friend, Beni Halvorsen.

Beni has given his blessing for this fundraiser, so you know it's serious.

As you know, Beni's a very private person, which is why you may not know for the last six months he's been in the fight of his life against a very aggressive form of brain cancer.

The surgery to remove the tumour in February went well, but Beni suffered a heart attack on the operating table (he died twice) and now needs further open heart surgery to save his life.

In typical Beni style, he's being stoic, but this whole process, and the future he faces, have taken a massive toll on him.

He's unable to work.

He's been denied insurance via his Super.

He's out of pocket to the tune of $50,000+ for the surgeries (on top of what his private health covered).

He's sold almost everything he owns, save for his car, because as Beni does, he doesn't want to be a burden.

Anyone who knows Beni knows he's a fighter (and a pretty good dancer). All he can think about is hitting the gym, or planning his next excuse to don the Batman mask for ballroom dancing and putting that big brain of his back to work, but for now, he needs our help.
