After months of fighting cervical cancer, I’ve just completed my last round of chemotherapy. The journey has been overwhelming, both physically and financially. The side effects from treatment made it nearly impossible to work like I was used to, and as a result, my income has taken a major hit. I’ve used up my savings, my 401K, and leaned on my family as much as I could, but the medical bills and everyday expenses keep piling up. Now, I’m facing a full hysterectomy and two more platelet transfusions before December, and the costs are more than I can manage alone.
My biggest worries right now are covering the surgery, paying off medical bills, and making up for lost income so I can keep up with my prior financial obligations. My daughter and my dad have been by my side every step of the way, driving me to treatments and doctor appointments when I couldn’t do it myself. Their support, along with the kindness of friends and family, has kept me going even on the hardest days.
Now that chemo is behind me, I’m focusing on recovery and learning to adjust to the new challenges ahead—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I’m determined not to let this diagnosis define me. I’m grateful for the strength and hope I’ve found through faith, and for the people who have shown up for me when I needed it most. Any support will help me get through this next chapter and move forward with gratitude and hope.
