Today, our community in Bend, Oregon, experienced an unimaginable tragedy. I am creating this fundraiser for the families directly affected by the elementary school shooting here in Bend. As a father of five, with two young girls in elementary and middle school just miles away, I felt a fear no parent should ever have to experience when the news broke. My wife and I rushed to pick up our daughters, and the relief of holding them is something I will never forget. My heart breaks for the parents, children, teachers, and families whose lives were changed today.

I am raising these funds because the impact of this tragedy will not end today. Families may be facing emotional, physical, and financial hardship in the weeks and months ahead. Donations will help support those directly affected, including mental health support, funeral expenses, and other urgent needs that arise as families and the wider Bend community begin to carry the weight of what happened.

I will be working with the school's PTO to handle the funds, and funds will remain held in the GoFundMe in the meantime. Because the needs will continue over time, recurring donations can provide steady help in the coming weeks and months as families face ongoing support needs. One-time donations are also deeply appreciated and will make an immediate difference.
