Support Ben Schweers Battle Against Osteosarcoma!
Donation protected
There is never an easy way to ask for help, but sometimes it takes a village to get you through this crazy little thing called life. On August 23rd, my nephew, Ben Schweers was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. There is a tumor on his left femur that has spread into some of his soft tissue close to his hip. Unfortunately, the cancer has also spread to his lungs. Ben's treatment will be extensive, starting with 10 weeks of chemotherapy, followed by surgery to replace his hip and femur. Another 5 week round of chemo will follow that. Once they've tackled the leg, they will move onto treatment for the lungs. His treatment begins this Tuesday and will consist of 2-3 nights a week in the hospital in Omaha. Surgeries and scans will be done at Mayo. This is not something anyone wants to go through and Ben has a long road ahead of him, but Ben and his family are ready to fight to win the battle! Unfortunately, they will need some extra support, as his mom will be off work during treatment, trips back and forth to Omaha/Mayo, etc., so I've created a Go Fund Me for them. Any little bit helps and will go a long way as they navigate through this challenge that life has thrown their way. Any prayers/extra love thrown their way would be appreciated!
