In late July, 2025, Benjamin Hunt was volunteering with a summer camp for low-income children in northern Idaho. He was using a jointer to prepare boards for a woodworking class when a tragic accident occurred, and he lost all four fingers on his right hand, most of them down to the second knuckle. Despite immediate medical attention and surgery, they were not able to be saved.
This devastating injury has been extremely painful and traumatic for Ben and his entire family. He is a cabinetmaker and woodworker, and his future in this trade is now uncertain. To make the situation even more difficult, Ben and Kloe had just welcomed their first child, Kirsten, less than two months before the accident happened. Ben is now faced with the daunting reality of starting over - finding and training for a new career path, while still providing for his wife and daughter. Kloe is doing everything she can, but caring for both her infant and her injured husband leave little time for her to work outside the home.
We want to help lift some of the heavy burdens this precious young family is facing. Your generosity will help cover medical costs, travel for necessary follow-up appointments, and daily living costs for Benjamin, Kloe, and baby Kirsten during this difficult time.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference for the Hunts and remind them that they aren’t alone. Thank you for helping to bring hope and stability to their lives as they navigate this unexpected and life-changing journey.
