Dear Friends and Family,

Hi everyone! My name is Bella Kao, and I’m currently a first-year college student in Boston pursuing a career in nursing. This past year has definitely been one of growth and new perspectives, and I’m so grateful for what God has been teaching me so far!

For a long time growing up, I thought of ministry as something big, formal, or reserved for people called to it as a lifelong career. Lately, though, I’ve been learning that ministry is something we can live out everyday whether it's showing God’s love through random conversations, meeting people where they are, and simply being present.

This summer, I’ve been given an amazing opportunity to live that out in a new way. I’ve been selected to serve on a month-long mission trip to Berlin, Germany, where I’ll be working alongside a small group of brothers and sisters in Christ to support our sister church there and its campus ministry.

I’m honestly nervous but also incredibly excited. I’ll be joining other students from the Boston area, and together we’ll be spending time on college campuses in Berlin building relationships, having meaningful conversations, and sharing our faith with students from all kinds of backgrounds.

One verse I’ve been reflecting on a lot recently is Isaiah 6:8: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”

Even as I’m still figuring things out as a student myself, I feel such a strong pull to say, “Send me, Lord!”
