Over the past year, Bella has faced challenges no teenager should have to endure. What began as a frightening medical mystery last June led to the discovery of multiple demyelinating brain lesions, resulting in several hospitalizations, countless tests, and months filled with uncertainty. Bella has since been diagnosed with Balo’s Concentric Sclerosis and is also facing a suspected diagnosis of pediatric-onset Multiple Sclerosis. This journey has brought fear, pain, and many unknowns—but it has also revealed something extraordinary: Bella’s unwavering strength.
Despite everything, Bella continues to push forward as a high honors and AP student, showing up each day with determination, even when it’s not easy. Rather than letting her diagnosis define her, Bella is choosing to give it purpose. As Miss Somerset 2026, Bella will be participating in Miss Massachusetts USA this June. She is pursuing the Miss Massachusetts title so she can use her voice to advocate for children and teens living with chronic and invisible illnesses. Through her platform, she hopes to bring comfort to those who feel unseen and remind them they are not alone. Bella shares, “Many people assume I’m fine because I look fine. But every day takes effort, and so much of what I go through is invisible.”
Her experiences have not only shaped her platform—they’ve inspired her future. Bella now dreams of pursuing a career in medicine, with the hope of one day caring for patients the way her own care team has supported her through some of her hardest moments. We are asking for your support to help cover the expenses associated with the Miss Massachusetts pageant, including fees, travel, wardrobe, and preparation, as well as charitable efforts and contributions. Your generosity will not only help Bella step onto that stage—it will help her share a message of resilience, compassion, and hope with others who need it most. Thank you for believing in Bella and being part of her journey.
