A lot of you know my sister, Bella and part of her story. For those who are new: she has been battling breast cancer since she turned 30, 7 years ago. She had a bilateral mastectomy with failed reconstruction followed by countless complications and surgeries after. Her cancer spread and went stage 4 in Dec 2019. This December marked 5 years with metastatic breast cancer. The fact she has fought so long makes her my inspiration. She is a single mom to 3 little kids.
This past year has been very hard for Bella and her kids. She has spent so much time in the hospital, including holidays like Easter. Her cancer is progressing rapidly and went to her brain this summer. She fought threw it and did a couple rounds of medicine in the hospital that she had severe allergic reactions to. She then underwent 10 full brain radiation treatments.
As if that wasn’t enough; she broke her right leg (just by standing up bc the cancer has eaten her bones) and then her left. Both legs required surgery and rods and screws to be placed.
She has a hard time walking now because of the cancer in her spine and nerve pain. She is about to start her 6th round of radiation, this time to her neck and cervical spine. She has fractures in her spine that will never heal.
Bella is in pain every day but only takes ibuprofen because she does not like opioids and she has so many allergies. I’d like to raise funds to go toward her medical bills such as co pays, premiums, fuel to get to her appts, meals for her and her children, etc.
Despite everything she goes through daily, she is almost always smiling and continues to inspire our community, family and friends. Bella has fought so hard for so long, it would be great to take the financial hardship out of the equation for a while. Thank you all for your support.
