UPDATE

I wanted to thank everyone who donated to Bella and Angie. Bella is home from CHOP and felling better each day. She still has a journey ahead of her, but hopefully the worst part is behind. Your kindness and generosity make a direct impact on this amazing family.

Haley and I have a sweet 14-year-old friend, Bella, and her mom, Angie. They found out on Tuesday that Bella has pancreatic cancer. She had a 13-hour surgery at CHOP yesterday. Bella has been having stomach pains for quite a while. Finally, over the weekend, she went to the ER. While looking for kidney stones, an ultrasound found a mass in her pancreas. We are not sure of anything going forward at this point.

Angie’s mom passed away 2 weeks ago after a battle with kidney disease. They haven’t even had a chance to grieve that loss. Angie has been at the hospital since Monday, never leaving Bella’s side. She has burned through her vacation time. Bella will be in the hospital another 2-4 weeks. I am hoping to raise enough to cover the rent and expenses for a month, just to take some of the financial stress from Angie.
