Hi everyone, we are turning to our community for help with our sweet girl Bella. Bella has been diagnosed with IMHA (Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia), a serious and life-threatening condition where her immune system attacks her own red blood cells. IMHA is something new to us but apparently predominant in dachshunds. While IMHA can affect any dog, Dachshunds are one of the breeds genetically predisposed to immune-related disorders. Their immune systems may be more prone to misfiring, possibly due to inherited traits. This makes them more vulnerable to diseases like IMHA, especially after things like infections, vaccines, or stress trigger the immune system. Bella’s diagnosis came out of nowhere — there were no warning signs, just sudden fatigue and a quick rush trip to the vet and then to the emergency room. In order to give our girl the best fighting chance, we had to make the decision to give her a blood transfusion. If anyone knows me, they know I will do anything for my pets. We’re doing everything we can, but the constant medical costs are becoming more than we can handle alone.
We’re holding onto hope and doing everything we can to save Bella. If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us. And if you can’t give right now, please keep Bella in your prayers and share her story.
Your love, support, and kindness are deeply appreciated more than words can say. Thank you for being part of Bella’s fight.
