Support Bella Turner’s Transition Journey

Hello everyone! My name is Bella Bellaírr Turner. I’m a 25-year-old African American transgender woman from Cleveland, Mississippi, currently residing in Killeen, Texas. I’m starting a GoFundMe to raise money for my male-to-female surgical transition.

I’ve always experienced life set apart from others because I was labeled “different.” I was the kid who walked, talked, and acted “like a girl,” and because my physical appearance didn’t correlate with the way I carried myself, I was severely bullied. This played a huge role in who I became today. Today, I’m working on getting better with my social anxiety and depression due to the trauma bullying left me with. This made it difficult for me to find myself in a world that I felt I had no place in.

I came out as transgender back in 2021 and didn’t start my physical transition until August of 2024. In the meantime, I was forced to deal with a lot of body dysphoria, transphobia, anxiety, and depression. I hated seeing myself in the mirror, how my voice sounded, and how people interacted with me. This led to me seeking mental and emotional help because it was all too much until I started taking hormones in August 2024. I started to feel a bit more like myself physically and emotionally. I’ve gotten a lot better with my anxiety and depression, as well as my social interactions.

This transition doesn’t just heal my physical appearance but my mental and emotional health as well. Being able to get my surgeries would mean a great deal in my transition. If my goal is reached, I will be getting my facial feminization surgery (FFS) as well as my chest feminization. Most surgical procedures, if not all, are hard to pay in full. I’m currently a self-employed hairdresser as well as a full-time medical assistant student. I don’t make much on my own, but I don’t just expect a handout. I’m grateful for any and everything that is donated to me for these procedures.
