Hello, my name is Samra Hrustemovic, and I’m starting this fundraiser to support my friend Belkisa Kuljancic and her family after the sudden and heartbreaking loss of their father.
Anyone who knew him knows he was someone who could always make people smile. He loved joking around, telling stories, and giving advice to anyone who needed it. Whether it was through teaching, coaching, or just everyday life, he had a way of making people feel comfortable and supported. More than anything, he loved being there for his family.
Family meant everything to him. He took pride in being the best father, husband, grandfather, and friend he could be. After losing his first wife to cancer many years ago, he worked incredibly hard to continue providing a loving and stable life for his children. In time he was able to find love again and build a life with his wife, who is now also left grieving his loss.
His passing came very suddenly after he underwent an emergency surgery while in the hospital. Along with the unimaginable emotional loss, Belkisa and her family are now facing significant and unexpected medical expenses connected to his care.
Because everything happened so quickly, many of the final medical bills are still being processed and the full amount is still unknown. One bill for anesthesia alone has already come in at close to $10,000, and additional hospital and surgical bills are expected to follow.
Belkisa’s dad was the one who handled most of the financial responsibilities for the household, so navigating these unexpected costs while grieving his loss has been incredibly difficult. This loss is especially heavy because Belkisa and her brother have now lost both of their parents.
This fundraiser has been created simply to help ease the burden of the medical bills related to his emergency care. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping the family manage these unexpected expenses.
