Belinda is a dedicated toddler teacher at Garden Montessori Schools - Memorial who recently experienced a life-changing stroke while at work on August 28, 2025. She spent five days in the ICU, followed by three days in the hospital, and then two weeks in a rehabilitation facility at Memorial Hermann TIRR.
Belinda is making progress, but she still has limited mobility on her left side and faces a long road to recovery. She will be discharged from rehab on September 17, 2025, and will need ongoing speech, physical, and occupational therapy as she transitions back home.
The stroke has left Belinda with significant medical bills, therapy costs, and daily living expenses. As someone who has always cared for young children and given so much to her community, she now needs help from others to get through this challenging time. Her ability to return to work is uncertain, and she will need continued rehabilitation to regain her independence.
Through it all, she continues to talk about how much she misses her classroom and can’t wait to see her toddlers again. Belinda is surrounded by a loving family, including her three sisters Karina, Rebecca, and Erica, her parents Jeanie and Roberto, her husband Luis, and her daughter Lani.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and generosity. Your support means the world to Belinda and her family.
