Support "Becoming The Man - a prequel"

Hello! My name is Mike Zolomij, and I am currently fundraising for a short film which I’m entitling “Becoming The Man - a Prequel”.

The short is, as you guessed, a prequel to a 2024 short I made simply titled “R.I.P. Kevin The Man”. This short was inspired by my time as a regular at West Chester, PA's Hop Fidelity, and came about during an event where me and my friends in the staff discussed what a movie about the store would look like.

The short that resulted was written, directed, and edited by me, a first due to my time working as a producer at a home shopping network. The short can be seen here, and some material filmed for the short here, just to give you a glimpse of what we’re working on.

After the film was done, it was submitted and accepted into the West Chester Film Festival, whereas a local filmmaker I made news not only for the film, but for also being a runner-up for the H. Paul Fitzpatrick People’s Choice Award, something I was told was rare in the festival especially for a first time submission.

Moving towards the prequel, we’re telling the story of Kevin, who reckons with his past, present, and future in order to truly embody “The Man”, inspired by the man behind The Man, Kevin Suplee.

We’re looking for funding since this prequel is shaping up to be better than it’s predecessor (or successor, depending on how you look at it), and we will need the money for hiring sound crew, promotion of the film, as well as another festival run.

Donating money to the fundraiser will not only allow us to make the film I’ve been working on for the last 3 months, but also to allow us to spread the word of the movie and get it seen by as many as possible.
