Help My Sister Becky Fight Her Next Battle with Faith

Hi everyone,

My name is Veronica, and I’m writing this on behalf of my incredible sister, Rebeca, who many lovingly know as Becky. She’s 28 years old, full of life, faith, and strength…but today, she’s facing one of the hardest battles yet, and she needs our help.

A Life of Miracles

Becky’s story is one of pure resilience and divine purpose. At just 8 years old, in 2005, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) a type of cancer with little to no chance of survival. Doctors offered a brand-new chemotherapy treatment that had never been used on anyone before. Our parents, with incredible faith, said yes and left it in God’s hands.

She went through full-body radiation and intense chemo, and God worked a miracle. But that wasn’t the end; she needed a bone marrow transplant. And by another miracle, our brother Josue, only 12 at the time, was a perfect match. Without hesitation, he said yes to saving her life.

Becky survived. And she’s been fighting with that same faith ever since.

In 2018, she was diagnosed again; this time with a rare and life-threatening blood disorder called TTP (Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura). For months, she was in and out of the hospital, receiving blood and platelet transfusions. Once again, by God’s grace, she made it through.

A New Diagnosis: Brain Tumor

Last year, in September 2024, Becky began experiencing severe migraines. An MRI revealed a small brain tumor, known as a meningioma, likely caused by the radiation she received as a child. Doctors were hopeful it would remain stable; but her most recent MRI in June 2025 shows that the tumor has grown. Specialists are now highly recommending brain surgery to remove it before it causes seizures, stroke, or swelling of the brain.

As you can imagine, this news has been devastating for our family. Becky recently started a new job and sadly does not qualify for short-term disability or FMLA, and her insurance only covers part of the treatment. While she’s trying to stay strong in her faith, the financial burden is heavy—and that’s why I’m reaching out to you.

Becky has always been a warrior..not just physically, but spiritually. She truly believes she was made for the battlefield. She lives by faith, not by sight, and she’s never let a diagnosis define her.

Now, she needs us, her friends, family, and community to stand by her side.

• Recovery costs, including medication, transportation, and basic living needs

• Unpaid time off during her healing process

As her sister, I can tell you that Becky’s faith is unshakable. She believes in a God who has delivered her time and time again. And I believe in that too. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. She is not just a survivor, she is a walking miracle.

Ayuda a mi hermana Becky a enfrentar su próxima batalla con fe 

 Hola a todos, Mi nombre es Verónica, y estoy escribiendo esto en nombre de mi increíble hermana Rebeca, a quien muchos cariñosamente conocen como Becky. Tiene 28 años, está llena de vida, fe y fortaleza… pero hoy está enfrentando una de las batallas más difíciles, y necesita nuestra ayuda. 

Una vida de milagros 

La historia de Becky es de pura resiliencia y propósito divino. A tan solo 8 años, en 2005, fue diagnosticada con Leucemia Mieloide Aguda (LMA), un tipo de cáncer con muy pocas probabilidades de sobrevivir. Los doctores ofrecieron un tratamiento de quimioterapia completamente nuevo que nunca se había usado antes en nadie. Nuestros padres, con una fe increíble, dijeron que sí y lo dejaron en manos de Dios. Pasó por radiación de cuerpo completo y quimioterapia intensa, y Dios obró un milagro. Pero eso no fue todo; necesitaba un trasplante de médula ósea. Y por otro milagro, nuestro hermano Josué, que tenía solo 12 años en ese entonces, fue una compatibilidad perfecta. Sin dudarlo, dijo que sí a salvarle la vida. 

Becky sobrevivió. Y ha estado luchando con esa misma fe desde entonces. 

 En 2018, fue diagnosticada nuevamente; esta vez con un raro y peligroso trastorno de la sangre llamado PTT (Púrpura Trombocitopénica Trombótica). Estuvo durante meses entrando y saliendo del hospital, recibiendo transfusiones de sangre y plaquetas. Una vez más, por la gracia de Dios, logró salir adelante.

Un nuevo diagnóstico: tumor cerebral 

El año pasado, en septiembre del 2024, Becky comenzó a sufrir de migrañas severas. Una resonancia magnética reveló un pequeño tumor cerebral, conocido como meningioma, probablemente causado por la radiación que recibió de niña. Los doctores esperaban que se mantuviera estable; pero su resonancia más reciente en junio de 2025 mostró que el tumor ha crecido. Los especialistas ahora recomiendan altamente una cirugía cerebral para removerlo antes de que cause convulsiones, un derrame cerebral o inflamación en el cerebro. 

Como se pueden imaginar, esta noticia ha sido devastadora para nuestra familia. Becky acaba de comenzar un nuevo trabajo y tristemente no califica para incapacidad a corto plazo ni para FMLA, y su seguro solo cubre una parte del tratamiento. Aunque está tratando de mantenerse fuerte en su fe, la carga financiera es muy pesada y por eso les estoy escribiendo.

Ella es una guerrera. Vamos a levantarla. Becky siempre ha sido una guerrera… no solo físicamente, sino espiritualmente. Ella realmente cree que fue hecha para el campo de batalla. Vive por fe, no por vista, y nunca ha dejado que un diagnóstico la defina. Ahora, ella nos necesita — a sus amigos, su familia y su comunidad — para que estemos a su lado. 

Estamos pidiendo donaciones para ayudar con: 

• Cirugía y gastos médicos que no cubre el seguro 

• Costos de recuperación, incluyendo medicamentos, transporte y necesidades básicas 

• Tiempo no pagado durante su proceso de sanación

Como su hermana, puedo decirles que la fe de Becky es inquebrantable. Ella cree en un Dios que la ha librado una y otra vez. Y yo también creo en eso. Lo he visto con mis propios ojos. Ella no es solo una sobreviviente, es un milagro viviente.
