This is a Call to Action to Help Beckie-Ann Galentine & Baby Ezra Recover

My name is Althea Hughes and Beckie-Ann Galentine is my best friend. Last night a got a call that her six-month-old son, Ezra, is facing a heartbreaking medical crisis. Ezra suffered a stroke and was rushed to the children’s hospital, where he remains under intensive care and constant monitoring. Beckie has not left his side, holding his tiny hand through every moment of fear and hope they’ve encountered.

The journey ahead for Ezra and Beckie is overwhelming. Ezra will need ongoing treatment—physical therapy to help him regain movement, frequent pediatric follow-ups, and costly imaging like MRIs. Even with insurance, favong high deductibles, coinsurance, ER and urgent care copays, and many out-of-pocket expenses — this is a financial hurdle no new mother should have to face or handle alone. On top of the medical bills, she’s also dealing with travel, parking, food, and lost income while she stays at the hospital to care for her son.

Beckie is the kind of person who always puts others first, she’s the kind of person to never ask for help but always puts her hands out to help others. She’s been through a tough pregnancy and birth, and now, as she faces this unimaginable challenge, I want to help lighten her load. I’m starting this GoFundMe so Beckie can focus on Ezra’s healing without the crushing weight of financial worry.
