My son Beckett James Rector was violently shaken at just 6 weeks old, which caused unimaginable damage. Ninety percent of his brain was injured, including his brain stem. As a result, Beckett now lives with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, is legally blind and deaf, non-verbal, cannot stand on his own, and is g-tube fed. Despite these challenges, Beckett has shown incredible strength and resilience. He has already undergone multiple stem cell treatments, and we have seen meaningful progress. Now, we are preparing for his next intensive treatment, which is not covered by insurance and is quite expensive.
This upcoming treatment will take place at a neurological center and will use red light therapy, sound wave therapy, and other innovative approaches. We have heard inspiring stories from other TBI patients who have seen remarkable results. Our greatest hope is for Beckett to be able to stand on his own someday, which would make caring for him as he grows so much easier for our family.
Beckett is truly blessed to have so many supporters, and we are deeply grateful for every prayer, donation, and kind word. God has always made sure Beckett’s needs are met, and we believe that with your help, he can continue to make great strides. Thank you for considering supporting Beckett’s journey and for being such an important part of his story.
