Help 14-Year-Old John and His Mom Through a Heartbreaking Medical Emergency ❤️

One day, John was a healthy, active 14-year-old boy playing the sports he loves. Now, he's lying in a hospital bed facing a serious heart condition that nobody saw coming.

My nephew John is an incredible kid. He's a straight-A student, plays football and baseball, and runs track. He's kind, compassionate, funny, and goofy, with a personality that can brighten anyone's day. He has so much life ahead of him, which makes what he's going through even more heartbreaking.

Completely unexpectedly, John developed a serious heart condition that has caused swelling around his heart and put him at risk of a heart attack. He's currently hospitalized at Johns Hopkins Bayview, receiving a continuous Nitro drip as part of his treatment.

In the blink of an eye, his entire world changed.

While John faces this frightening medical emergency, my sister Becca is doing everything she can to stay by his side. Unfortunately, between missing work and the lack of accommodations for parents at the hospital, she's struggling to keep up financially, even when it comes to affording food.

No mother should have to worry about how she's going to afford her next meal while sitting beside her sick child.

We're asking for donations to help Becca cover food, transportation, accommodations, household bills, and other necessities so she can focus on what matters most: being there for John.

John should be worrying about his next game, his grades, and enjoying being a teenager, not facing something so serious at just 14 years old.
