Support Becca and Evan: Hope for Baby Girl
If you know Becca and Evan, then you know that they have dreamt of starting their own family since they said "I do" back in 2022. But unfortunately, their road to parenthood has been anything but easy. After enduring a heartbreaking pregnancy loss followed by a two-year bout of infertility, Becca found out she was pregnant in October and could hardly contain her excitement when they discovered they were having a girl! Soon thereafter, at their 20-week anatomy scan, it was revealed that their precious Baby Girl Bellas had low amniotic fluid and more scans would be necessary to determine the cause.
The coming days and weeks were filled with stress and worry as Becca and Evan attended countless doctor appointments and scans until they finally received a formal diagnosis for their unborn daughter - Baby Girl Bellas has renal agenesis (one kidney) and the one kidney she does have is already showing signs of failure. Because she only has one kidney, her small body is under constant stress, causing her heart to work three times harder than what it normally would, which is forcing the muscle tissue to thicken and enlarge, leaving her lungs unable to properly form. Though renal agenesis typically affects only 1 in 1,000 births, Baby Bellas' case is very medically complicated and may lead to fetal demise, though their medical team is taking a "wait and see" approach.
Needless to say, this is an absolutely devastating diagnosis that will likely lead to an even more heartbreaking outcome. Though the terrible prognosis looms over their heads, Becca and Evan hold hope of having a live birth for their beautiful daughter and are praying for a miracle.
Since their overwhelming diagnosis, Becca and Evan have decided that Becca will take a medical leave for the remainder of her pregnancy, with no date set for a return to work. If you find yourself in a position to help, please consider making a donation to help with the steady stream of medical bills that are already piling up (not to forget the regular bills that don't stop even in the face of tragedy - i.e., mortgage, groceries, utilities, etc.). The last thing that a young family that is just starting out should have to worry about is how they are going to survive financially, and no donation is too small! So please, please, please help the Bellas family during this most difficult time.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated and humbling and most definitely does not go unnoticed!
