Swimming 6.9 Miles to Fund Rhode Island Marine Research

On August 6, 2026, I'll be swimming the Around Beavertail Swim — an 11.1 km open water marathon swim circumnavigating Beavertail Island in Jamestown, Rhode Island.

I'm raising funds to support the Beavertail Open Water (BOW) Small Grant, which provides up to $1,500 to scientists, conservationists, and educators conducting marine science projects connected to Rhode Island. The grant supports small, well-defined projects that advance marine conservation and stewardship of the state's natural water resources — work that might not otherwise have access to funding.

As a PhD student in Brown University's Chemistry Department, I'm passionate about supporting the local scientific community and the waters I'll be swimming in. BOW is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donation is tax-deductible and goes directly toward funding this grant program and the researchers it supports.
