Hi everyone,

On the evening of Friday, 10 July 2026, five young people were involved in a devastating motor vehicle crash. Two passengers were flown in critical condition to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle that night. One of those passengers was Mayah, who sustained severe head injuries and remains in an induced coma in a critical condition.

I have created this GoFundMe to support Mayah's whole family during this incredibly uncertain and heartbreaking time.

The Walsh family are some of the most generous, hardworking people you could meet. They have always been the first to help others without hesitation, and now it's our turn to help them.

Mayah's stepmother is my beautiful best friend. She, alongside Mayah's father , mother, siblings and the extended family, have dropped everything to be by Mayah's side in Newcastle. Mayah is one of six siblings, and her family are doing everything they can to remain close to her while also navigating the challenges of being away from home and their other children.

Mayah is a beautiful young soul who needs her family beside her throughout this journey. Right now, every moment is precious, and their focus should be on supporting her instead of worrying about the financial burden that comes with being away from home.
