Support Beautiful Family Hire a Postpartum Doula!

Our names are Eugenia and Selena and we are Birth and Postpartum Doulas based in NYC. We are currently raising funds for a beautiful Black mama, Shamire, also a fellow doula in our community to be able to support our full fee for Postpartum Doula Services. We are currently raising $2,000 for 40 hours of postpartum care, transportation costs for the doulas and groceries for this family!!!

 

A note from the family:

 

My partner and I are expecting our first child and it has been important for us as a Black family to be fully prepared to welcome our child earthside especially with the knowledge I have as a doula. That has included hiring a birth doula, deciding to have a homebirth, and taking all the necessary classes. However, this past November, I was let go from my job and we have now been relying on one income which as you know, is difficult to do in NYC. Despite that, we have pinched pennies where we can to ensure that I feel safe and supported during the duration of my pregnancy and soon-to-be labor. With the reality that I may have to return to the workforce sooner than I had anticipated, I find it necessary now more than ever to hire the expertise of a postpartum doula. Your help would ensure that we are able to receive the postpartum care that all birthing parents should have; rather than it being viewed as a luxury afforded to those not defined as low-income.
