My name is Beau Kirkpatrick. When I was 11 years old (2011), I was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma (a rare bone cancer) and lost 3/4 of my right pelvic bone while going through extensive chemotherapy. Later on, in 2017, I was re-diagnosed with cancer during my entire senior year of high school. I graduated with everyone else regardless of endless chemotherapy and radiation. Now, as a 24-year-old senior in college (pursuing a double bachelor), I have yet again been re-diagnosed with cancer.
Going through this a third time will be even more difficult as I am an adult with bills to pay. I work as a para-educator with children and am striving to become a social worker for children with disabilities. Because of working with children, my immune system will not allow me to continue at my job for a while. I need help with costs that could be upcoming while going through treatment for cancer. I'm not one to ask for help, but I really do need it this time. If anything, please share and spread my story for support so I can graduate in the spring and continue with my master's program as a social worker. I've learned along the way that one cannot help others unless they themselves accept help first.
