We need your help to keep musical theatre alive at Brooklyn College!

The Brooklyn College Musical Theatre Collective successfully produced "Sondheim on Sondheim" on January 23rd and January 24th, 2026 thanks to the support of our community!

Unfortunately due to unforeseen and dangerous weather conditions we had to cancel our final performance of Sondheim on Sondheim on Sunday, January 25th. Due to the finances lost from these ticket sales we are asking the community to consider donating to support our future Spring 2026 production!

The continuously evolving art form of American musical theatre has yet to become fully embraced or supported at Brooklyn College or within any Theater Department or Conservatory of Music across The City University of New York.

The Brooklyn College Musical Theatre Collective is working to change that.

Our group’s efforts include promoting diversity in these curricula and interdepartmental collaboration to guarantee a future for this vital program and ensure that our students can receive this experience while pursuing their studies at Brooklyn College. Our mission is to provide performance and leadership opportunities to Brooklyn College students, alumni, and the broader community through the exploration of the inclusive and accessible art form of American musical theatre.

We function as a club and receive some funding from our student government, however, funding is extremely limited. Our number one priority is to produce high-quality productions for our audiences and for the performers in them. We aim to foster a highly educational environment for our group of determined musicians/actors/crew to learn from. Your donations will make it possible for us to purchase additional essential materials for the production, including costumes, set pieces, lighting equipment, and more! Over the last 3 years, our group has curated six productions, four of which took place in extremely limited Roosevelt Hall Studio 312. This space was once a gymnasium that was altered into a temporary performance space. This temporary performance space is now considered our permanent home.

Your support helps us bring our productions to life and ensures that our students can continue creating high-quality musical theatre at Brooklyn College. Any contributions, big or small, are greatly appreciated. If you’re not able to donate at this time, please share this GoFundMe with your family and friends. We hope to see you at our next production in the Spring of 2026!
