Our dedicated crew of property volunteers needs a way to navigate our woods and trails while carrying heavy equipment. We are seeking donations for the solution: a Polaris all-electric utility vehicle.
If you ever hike our 7 miles of walking trails at Honey Hollow, you may wonder how they are maintained so well. The answer is: hardworking, unpaid volunteers!
Our property crew does work which often entails walking with tools and supplies (think lumber, ladders, chainsaws) to distant parts of our 55-acre property. A utility vehicle will enable us to tackle critical projects which have been out of reach. The time savings on their efforts will be huge.
Property volunteer work includes:
- Removing fallen trees
- Building or repairing trail bridges
- Maintaining trails all kinds
- Repairing and troubleshooting various maintenance issues
- Preparing the property for educational and other events
The vehicle will also be a critical tool of first aid in case of medical emergencies for people of all ages. Additionally, it will be used to provide disability accommodations.
Please consider donating today. Your support in any amount will help us reach our goal of funding this critical piece of equipment.
If our goal is exceeded, any extra funds raised will be put toward materials and tools for this same volunteer property crew.
