Support the Bayou City Bee Program — Growing Gardens Across School!
We’re excited to launch this campaign to support the Bayou City Bee Program, a hands-on school garden initiative rooted in environmental stewardship, pollinator education, and outdoor experiential learning.
Our Mission:
Bayou City Bee brings outdoor classrooms and pollinator-friendly gardens directly to school campuses — at no cost to the schools or districts. These gardens become living labs where students learn science, ecology, sustainability, teamwork, and much more through real-world engagement.
What’s New — Growing Together!
We recently partnered with Lamar Consolidated High School to bring this transformative program to their Culinary Garden — and we’re expanding! Thanks to community support, we’re now working with Wessendorff Middle School, and we anticipate additional schools within the Lamar Independent School District joining the initiative next semester. This is just the beginning of a multi-school effort to build a network of garden classrooms that empower students and strengthen communities.
Each school garden includes:
Pollinator-friendly plantings to support bees and native wildlife
Raised beds, soil, and garden materials
Interpretive signage and lesson support
Ongoing care, maintenance, and curricula that enrich classroom learning
All costs — from planning and installation to garden education and upkeep — are fully sponsored through community contributions, so our partner schools can focus on the students.
Why Your Support Matters
This program brings nature into education and gives students a chance to:
Explore science and sustainability hands-on
Understand pollinators’ vital role in our ecosystem
Build confidence through real projects
Connect with nature right on their campus
With this expansion to multiple schools, your support will help scale this initiative across campuses, creating lasting outdoor learning spaces for even more students.
How You Can Help
Whether it’s $10, $50, or more, your donation brings us closer to equipping additional schools with thriving gardens — places where students grow, learn, and connect. Keystone sponsorships have already made an impact, and every contribution matters to keep this momentum going.
Please donate, share with friends, and help us grow this program for the next generation of environmental stewards.
Thank you for supporting the Bayou City Bee Program!
Together, we plant seeds of learning and cultivate community.
