We’re sharing this fundraiser on behalf of someone we love deeply—Bayo, a devoted mother of four—who is going through an incredibly difficult and overwhelming time.

Over the past year, she has been dealing with the effects of domestic violence, unsafe housing conditions, and serious emotional and physical stress while pregnant. She made the courageous decision to leave in order to protect herself and her children. Since then, she has been facing multiple legal challenges all at once, including criminal and family court matters.

Right now, she urgently needs strong legal representation to protect her rights and to continue fighting for stability and reunification with her children. Criminal defense alone can cost tens of thousands of dollars, and that’s before court fees, transportation, housing gaps, medical and prenatal care, and basic living expenses during separation from her children.

We are helping her raise $40,000, which is a realistic and necessary amount to cover:

    •    Retaining an experienced criminal defense attorney

    •    Legal fees related to custody and family court

    •    Temporary housing and basic living expenses

    •    Pregnancy-related medical care

    •    Supporting her four children during this period of separation

Bayo is a loving, present, and resilient mother who has always put her children first. Asking for help does not come easily to her, but this moment requires community.
