I am the the father of Baylie Turner Lemoine and she needs help to cover medical bills that insurance will not cover. Her husband is having to work 7- 12's to make ends meet as she is not able to work because of the illness.
Her Medical Journey:
In September 2023, I was diagnosed with a severe, antibiotic-resistant gastrointestinal infection that nearly took my life. After undergoing a rare procedure in Baton Rouge, the infection finally cleared—but I remained very sick. Over the next year, I saw 17 different doctors, underwent countless tests and procedures, and still had no answers. I couldn’t eat, lost over 45 pounds, and struggled with fainting spells, tremors, anxiety, depression, and a constant rapid heartbeat.
In October 2024, I came across a story about mold illness that mirrored my symptoms. Though we’d once considered testing our home (which had flooded in the Historical Flood of 2016), we dismissed the idea—until I pushed for a urine test that confirmed toxic mold exposure. When we tested our house, the mold levels were ten times higher than normal, concentrated in our bedroom and bathroom. At first, inspectors couldn’t find it, but after pulling up the floors, we discovered the mold spread underneath and into the air ducts.
We had to move out, throw away nearly everything, and remediate the home. Despite clear test results, most doctors still dismissed mold as the cause of my illness. It wasn’t until I found a functional medicine doctor in Covington that I began a true healing plan. He believes it will take 15–36 months to detox and restore my health.
Mold poisoning has affected every part of my life—physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. Depression, fatigue, and neurological symptoms can be unbearable, and it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. But I share this to raise awareness and to give hope to others who may be silently suffering.
If you’re experiencing unexplained symptoms, please get yourself and your home tested for mold. It’s more common—and more dangerous—than most people realize.
I’m deeply grateful for my husband, my mom, my grandparents, and my support system who have carried me through when I couldn’t carry myself. This journey isn’t over, but I have faith that God will use my story to help others find answers, healing, and hope.
