I’ve been friends with Bay for a very long time and she has always been there for me so I wanted to be there for her during this incredibly difficult time, so I’m sharing this on her behalf.

This past April, Bay’s life changed in an instant when her femur suddenly broke — and doctors discovered the fracture was caused by undetected Stage 4 lung cancer. Up until that moment, she was living on her own and working two retail jobs to supplement her Social Security. Overnight, she lost her mobility, her income, and the independence she worked so hard to maintain.

She has handled everything she could on her own, but without her jobs and with continuing health related expenses, things have become impossible financially. Since she hasn’t needed to ever ask for help before and it’s not something she’s comfortable doing, I am asking for her.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help Bay access supportive therapies that aren’t covered by Medicare but would make a tremendous difference in her quality of life during treatment. This includes acupuncture to ease chemo side effects and neuropathy, therapeutic massage for pain and stress relief, and talk therapy to support her through the immense emotional toll of dealing with stage 4 cancer.
