We are raising funds to help with the costs of surgery for our sweet girl Basil.

On March 4th when I picked Basil up from her groomer they mentioned a lump they’d found on her back hip. Since Basil is only 2 I figured it wouldn’t be anything serious, but I took her to the vet the next day just to be safe.

unfortunately the vet didn’t like the look of the sample, and we had to send it off for cytology. The results came back that Basil has a type of benign tumor that requires a full biopsy to diagnose, and surgery is recommended given the rare risk that it might spread or metastasize.

anyone who knows basil knows what a sweet, kind, loving girl she is, and anyone who knows us knows how much we adore her. we will be following all the vet’s recommendations, but as these costs are very expensive we have set up this gofundme. 

Basil’s initial cytology was $400, and her procedure will end up anywhere from $1,9756 to $2,386.08. We will also need to spend lots of time at home with her following the procedure to make sure she relaxes and lets herself heal (as this girl loves to run around and play!)We are so appreciative of any assistance and of all the love Basil receives from her community
