My name is Evan from North Carolina in the US. I am running this Gofund me on behalf of my friend Basel Naeem. All funds will go directly to him and will be used to purchase food and medicine for his family. These are his words:

"My name is Basel Naeem, I live in Gaza City, I am 25 years old.

My family consists of 5 members. My father's name is Nasser Naeem, and he is 58 years old. He suffers from a cartilage disease as well as chronic illnesses. My mother's name is Afaf Naeem, she is 57 years old and suffers from foot pain as well as other chronic illnesses.

I have a younger brother named Jalal, 20, and a younger sister names Shahd, 22. Shahd studies accounting at university, but she is unable to attend due to the war as well as university fees.

My older brother Fadi, 32, is married with 3 daughters and a newborn baby girl. He suffers from hearing and vision loss, and needs ongoing treatment, a hearing aid, and follow up appointments. his daughters names are Tasneem, 9; Nour, 6; Afaf, 3; and Bayan, who is a newborn.

My family has no shelter to protect us from the upcoming winter, with only a tattered tent that offers no protection from strong winds or heavy rain. We need money for a new tent, blankets, covers, and winter cloths, as well as for food and medicine."
