Help Barbie Fight ITP

Hi, our names are Bianca and Dane Sorensen, and we’re raising funds for our beloved dog, Barbie - a sweet, gentle 2-year-old Golden Retriever who has recently been diagnosed with ITP (Immune Thrombocytopenia), a serious autoimmune disease.

ITP causes Barbie’s immune system to attack her own platelets, making it difficult for her blood to clot and putting her at risk for internal bleeding. This diagnosis came suddenly and has turned our world upside down. Barbie is still just a puppy at heart! Full of love, joy, endless tail wags, and seeing her struggle has been heartbreaking.

At the same time, we are navigating this crisis while Bianca is pregnant, which has made this situation especially emotional and stressful for our family. Managing the uncertainty of Barbie’s health alongside pregnancy has been overwhelming, and we are doing our best to stay strong for both our growing family and our sweet girl.

Barbie’s treatment requires emergency veterinary care, specialized testing, medications, and ongoing monitoring. Unfortunately, the costs have added up very quickly, and long-term treatment is necessary to give Barbie the best chance at recovery and a happy, healthy life.

Barbie is more than a pet — she’s family. She has been by our side through everything, and now we’re doing everything we can to be there for her. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward her medical care and help ease the financial burden so we can focus on what matters most: saving Barbie’s life.
