Support Barbie Chaumont's Fight Against Leukemia

My dear, sweet, beautiful sister Barbie Chaumont, that many of you know, is being admitted to the hospital Monday, October 14th, for six to eight weeks of in-patient chemo and cancer treatments. After that, she'll have a bone marrow transplant at Fred Hutchinson which we're hoping that I can be a donor for.

On Wednesday, October 9th, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia due to an environmental deletion of her 5q chromosome (Please Google it. It's really pretty awful.) and so they are rushing her into an aggressive treatment to fight this aggressive cancer. Honestly Seattle is one of the best places to be for these sorts of treatments so we're grateful for that.

Barbie is a single mom who is in her 50's with a son who is still in high school. After treatment, she will return home and need 24/7 in-home care for at least 3-6 months. She will not be able to work much or even be able do simple tasks around the house for a while. We just don't know how her body is going to respond to all of this. What we do know is that alleviating as much stress as possible for her will help her concentrate on healing her body.

Many of you have been asking how you can help. Since her biggest concerns are keeping her house and providing for her son and since she can't have flowers or even many visitors during this time it would mean the world to her to know these things are being taken care of.

Let's help make sure she can make her house payments and pay her bills and the many other payments that we all know will come up while she is undergoing treatment and because of the treatments and medicines.

You guys are really good people and we're grateful to have each one of you in our corner for this fight. And we are going to fight and pray and believe for complete eradication of this cancer!
