Support Barbara's Move to Assisted Living

Barbara (Barbie) is an amazing mom and even better grandmother. She loves her son to the moon and back, and loves her grandchildren even more.

Last month, she fell, resulting in a broken hip. Shortly after, she underwent a partial hip replacement followed by more than a month of rehab and physical therapy.

After a visit to her apartment this weekend, she has made the near-impossible decision to move into assisted living. While she is not exactly thrilled about the prospect of leaving her home from the past 12 years, we are beyond excited to have her closer to us. She will be able to be more involved with her grandchildren, something she is looking forward to the most!

Unfortunately, assisted living comes at a great cost, and rightfully so! Medicaid will be able to help with the cost once approved. In the meantime, it falls on us to pay for her expenses. And this is where you come in. We are asking for help. Something none of us does very easily.

Barbara's discharge date from rehab is quickly approaching - October 21. We need as much money raised by then to help cover at least a couple of months while we are waiting on DHS to process her application.
