I’m sharing this with a heavy heart for a family that is very close to ours — Barbara is the mother of my daughter’s best friend, and they mean so much to us.

In December 2024, Barbara was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a devastating disease with no cure. The illness has been progressing, and she is now wheelchair-bound and in need of increasing daily care.

Recently, John was also laid off from his job. With the loss of income and the growing medical and caregiving expenses, their family is facing an overwhelming financial burden. This GoFundMe has been created to help cover Barbara’s medical costs and help support their household during this incredibly difficult time.

Barbara is a devoted mother, a dedicated teacher, and a kind friend to so many. Our daughters have been best friends since middle school, and it has been heartbreaking to watch their family go through this.
