Support Barbara Berens' Memorial Service

On Wednesday, May 21, 2025 Barbara Berens was driving home from her daughter’s house after dropping her grandsons off after school. She was suddenly hit with an extremely painful headache and had to pull over to the side of the road. She called her family, and after some debate, was certain that it was a migraine (something that she had battled all her life). Once she was safely home, her family went about their evenings.
At approximately 11:00pm she notified her family that her pain was worsening and she needed to go to the hospital. She called 911 and walked into the ambulance on her own accord. She requested to go to Froedtert Hospital.
Shortly after, she suffered a stroke as a result of a brain aneurysm. Despite her medical team’s best efforts, the bleeding and the damage was too excessive. Her family made the difficult decision to withdraw life support on Friday morning. On Saturday, May 24, 2025 she passed away peacefully, holding the hands of family, as she walked into Heaven’s Kingdom.
As we grieve this sudden and unimaginable loss, we are also facing the reality that Grandma did not have life insurance, and planning a service that truly honors her is a challenge. With the support of our dad and our aunt, we’re reaching out to our extended family, friends, and community for help.
We are heartbroken by how we lost her—but we want to find peace in how we remember her. She deserves a beautiful goodbye, one filled with the love she gave so freely to others. Any support you can offer will go toward her memorial service, a celebration of life, and if possible, toward helping our grandfather in the months ahead.
Thank you for loving our grandma, and for keeping her spirit alive through your kindness.
With love and gratitude,
Barbara’s Granddaughters
