Support Barb Farmer's Final Expenses

As some people may know, my sister, Barb Farmer, suffered a terminal illness as a result of long COVID. In November of 2021 she was found unresponsive and rushed to Parkview Fort Wayne, where she was placed on a ventilator for 7 days. When she finally came off the vent she had to have 4 finger partially amputated as well as BKA of her left leg, due to blood clots; as she powered through the shock of that she was diagnosed with Post-COVID cholangiopathy, also referred to as Cholangitis which if you google it, there is very little research on Post-COVID cholangiopathy with it being such a new “phenomenon” as they like to describe it. After a year worth of trips to IU Hospital she was referred to North Western University in Chicago to get a complete liver transplant work up. In October of 2023 she was turned down for transplant due to blood vessels being too fragile for sutures. From there it was a “just wait and see where it goes from here” game. Even after all of this she powered through and continued to work until she just couldn’t work anymore. In October of 2024 she retired on her 10th anniversary from a job that she absolutely loved. She fought with that decision for months before she decided it was what she had to do, but what came with that was the loss of benefits and life insurance. Just prior to November of 2021she was in the middle of the jumping through all hoops to get life insurance, but she didn’t have the chance to jump through the last hoop before Covid. After a little over 4 years of doctors, medicines, and hospital stays, she lost her battle, and anyone who knows anything about life insurance knows that if you have prior health conditions life insurance companies do not like to cover you, so now the final cost lies with her family.
