Banjo has been my best boy since December 2011, when I brought him home as a clumsy 4-month-old puppy. Nearly 14 years later, he’s still that same goofy, stubborn dog, just slower now and much sleepier. His chaotic, high-energy days are behind him, and he spends most of his time wandering around the yard or napping in his favorite spots. He’s not the brightest, but he’s always tried his best, and that’s part of what makes him perfect.
Through every move, job, and heartbreak, Banjo’s been there. On the days I couldn’t get myself out the door, he made sure I did. He’s always had this way of reminding me that a walk in the woods can fix more than you think.
Now that he’s older, his care needs have grown. Between vet visits and medications (about $1,800 so far), plus special diets, mobility supports, and comfort items to ease his arthritis, the costs have added up quickly. There will be more vet visits and pain-management check-ins ahead, and when the time comes, the cost of saying goodbye and cremation alone will be around $800.
Times are tight right now, and I want to make sure Banjo stays comfortable and well cared for in his final chapter. Any help covering his medical and comfort needs would mean the world, to both of us.
Even if you can’t donate, sharing this or leaving a kind word for Banjo would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping me give my old man the gentle, loving send-off he deserves.
