Hi, I’m Alicia, and I’m starting this GoFundMe for Banjo and his family to help support them through an incredibly challenging medical journey.

Banjo is 15 years old and lives with dystonic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Recently, he underwent major bilateral hip surgery to help reduce chronic pain and slow the progression of scoliosis in his spine.

After being discharged home in significant pain, Banjo was sadly readmitted to hospital just days later. He has now spent over 40 days in hospital while his medical team works to find the right balance of medications to manage both his pain and dystonia. At this stage, there is still no clear timeline for when he will be able to return home.

This unexpected and extended hospital stay has placed enormous emotional and financial pressure on Banjo’s family. Time away from work, ongoing travel costs including fuel, tolls and parking, as well as daily meals and other out-of-pocket expenses, have quickly added up.

I am raising funds to help ease some of this burden so that his family can focus fully on what matters most — being by Banjo’s side, supporting his healing and recovery every step of the way.
