Support Bane's Life-Saving Surgery

Hi, my name is Olivia, and I am the proud owner of three cats, all of which I’ve rescued and taken care of since they were just a few weeks old. I consider them my babies. Their names are Misty, Axel, and Bane. Axel and Bane were littermates found on a dock. They’re brothers and have a very close, fun-loving, teasing relationship. I can always find the two cuddling, grooming each other, or chasing each other around the house. Bane is a gentle giant. He’s a sweet boy who loves to cuddle and runs to greet me when I come home. However on October 27th he was wailing and acting strange, so we rushed him to the emergency room where they discovered a very serious urinary blockage which, if left untreated, is fatal. Efforts to try to remove it failed the first attempt, and we had been advised on surgery to not only remove the blockage but perform a Perineal Urethrostomy. Luckily they tried a second attempt to remove it without surgery and it was successful. They still advised us to go through with the second surgery to permanently fix him so he will never have to go through this again. The procedure that he had created a new urinary opening which allows him to pass any blockage much easier and will greatly decrease the chance of this happening again. The surgery wasn’t perfect and they ran into complications. His urethra was under a lot of stress from all of the attempts and had a small tear in it which made it fray when they rerouted the tube. Due to this issue his recovery will be that much harder and there could be complications including a potential revision surgery in the future. Just like they said it has been anything but easy and we have already been back to the hospital three times since he’s been home, but I will keep fighting for him and doing all that I can to make sure he fully recovers and is well again. I love my pets dearly, and he and his brother are only 3 years old. They have a long life to live together, and I need your help to give my baby boy a fighting chance at a good, long life.
