Bane is my sweet, loving 10-month-old pup who has been battling serious health challenges since he was just a few months old. Despite everything he’s been through, he continues to be a fighter.

We brought Bane home at 7 weeks old, and since then, we have been at the vet every single month trying to get answers and manage his ongoing health struggles. This has been an exhausting and emotional journey that has lasted almost his entire life, and we are still searching for the right diagnosis.

At just 3–4 months old, Bane developed bacterial pneumonia, which took nearly three months to recover from. Soon after, he needed emergency surgery for impacted teeth. Then, in December, he underwent another surgery to remove an infected and severely swollen salivary gland.

Unfortunately, even after surgery, Bane continues to experience painful swelling on the right side of his face, which worsens overnight. He has labored breathing, fluid leakage from his nose and mouth, facial itching, and noticeable discomfort in his right leg when the swelling flares up. Some days, he is happy and playful; other days, he is lethargic, scared, and clearly in pain.

We have been working closely with an internal medicine specialist, who recently ruled out a fungal infection but has not yet been able to determine the cause of Bane’s ongoing symptoms. Her next recommended steps are a CT scan and exploratory surgery, along with biopsies to rule out infections, lymphoma, or another underlying condition.

What’s Next?

Bane needs:

This next round of testing and treatment is very expensive, and I’m reaching out for help to give Bane the care he needs. He has been suffering for months, and we desperately need answers.
